DRAFTED

Latina’s in sports?! Say less!!

I had the privilege of contributing to Drafted, a startup with a mission to highlight and amplify the presence of Latinas in sports. As part of this effort, I created several social media templates to help tell the stories of these incredible women in the industry. I also designed custom stickers to support their grassroots initiatives, designed an in-depth report on Latina sports fans, and crafted social media posts to accompany the findings of their research.

I was tasked with designing the logo for their online marketing campaign, PROX-Y-MAS. The name is a blend of the Spanish words “proximia”, meaning “next,” and “y más”, meaning “and more.”

This campaign was created to highlight and celebrate Latinas in the sports industry, giving them a platform to share their stories and experiences. I was asked to maintain the Drafted brand colors, but I had the freedom to explore different fonts. After testing a few options, I chose a font that evoked a Latin vibe.

My goal was to keep the design simple while still conveying the celebratory spirit of the campaign. To do this, I drew inspiration from papel picado, the decorative paper cutouts that hang and are often used in Latin American celebrations. I incorporated a pink box around the "Y" to mimic the intricate patterns and pop of color of papel picado, adding a festive touch and helping to visually separate the words.
